I know this is an older post, but for those that still use these forums for research or fly older models as I do......
Yes, you can absolutely use both props on either drone. The MP1 came stock with 8330 props, (8.3" from hub to prop tip, 3.0" of pitch, 7.5g), the MP2 and M2E come stock with 8743 props (8.7" from hub to prop tip, 4.3" of pitch, 6.9g). The hub/connection mechanisms are identical, the only reason DJI advises against using them on one another is simply to sell more product and/or a reason to deny a warranty claim. I've been flyint DJI products and building my own drones for over a decade, the most important thing about props that will provide enough lift for your craft to safely fly in the appropriate manor it was designed for, is prop legnth and weight. If you're drone is designed to fly on 7" props, pretty much any 7" props will work. Unless you decide to use a weird material or fly with tri or quad blade props that are much heavier. If that's the case, then you need to know your motor specs and what their designed to spin. But if the weight and length are relatively the same, then 2,3 or 4 blades, and the pitch of the blades just become an effeciency/lift or noise issue, not a safety issue for the overall flight. So the difference in the MP1 and MP2/M2E props length is 0.4" and the difference in weight is 0.6g, so there is no reason why either can't be used on all three drones, I have personally flown them both on my MP1 and M2EA, with no major differences or performance other than noise.
WARNING: That DOES NOT mean you can mix and match them on the same drone, all 4 must be 8330s or 8743s on an individual drone. |
