Hello! In the DJI user manual he recommended to fully charge and discharge the battery every 10 charge and discharge! DjI recommends to discharge the battery up to 5%. All person always told me that it should never be done with lipo batteries because they burst!
It is correct what written in the user manual or the tips refers to old batteries and they forgot to eliminate the advice!!!

The app will calculate this maintenance time based on recorded numbers of full charges, which is stored in battery memory. Another indication and a need for deep cycling may be in case of unbalanced cells, as shown by voltage measurements on dedicated battery info page. The difference of more than approx. 0.2V should be eliminated during deep cycling process.

However, in case of old or aging DJI Smart Batteries it's a good practice to occasionally monitor their performance during flight. Simply program one of C buttons on your remote to briefly show battery info. If cell's voltage drops rapidly into red zone during fast flight and battery temperature is quickly reaching above 50C, it's time for retirement ...
