Has anyone here boughten the waterstrider... I see a drone shop in Calgary Alberta carry this.

Nice find RedHotPoker and in addition just a friendly reminder that DJI do not recommend using 3rd part accessories when operating your DJI drones. Actually, there is a  possibility that this accessory will be able to work with the said drone, however, since it's not yet tested by DJI for the said drone we cannot guaranteed the stability of the  if it will work all the time while using the specific accessory. Thank you.

That would be the only advantage, for me, for this addition to a drone.

It looks great for Safe water landings and or accidental forced landing, running out of power above water ... when your drone has been blown away because of the windage of that ridiculous (and expensive) contraption.
Should be good for reducing flight times with weight and wind resistance as well as slowing your speed.

Unless you really need to land on water (does anyone?) it's the perfect solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
And more likely to contribute to the loss of your drone than save it.

Or a more practical solution is to realise that flying over water has the same (very low) risk level as flying over water and forget strapping cumbersome contraptions to the drone that only handicap it's ability to fly properly.

Looks to me like if you did anything but a perfectly vertical landing the feet would catch an edge and....

Hopefully the legs are flexible and allow for some irregular landing surfaces.

That’s why I’d rather take a floater, for those iffy moments.

But once it lands safely on the water, then what? I can’t swim very far.

I don’t know, but they wouldn’t be used for extended flights.

No, only intermittent missions above the local fishing hole. ;-)

And other planned excursions whee they may come in handy.

But no long distant or speed flights.

I doubt they will ever offer waterproof motors.

As mentioned earlier, check the price tag, for higher quality drones.

Sure you can water proof nearly anything. But at a cost, that may be prohibitive to most of us.
Though spending thousands on one man helicopter is frivolous spending too.

Check the price tag, then make up your mind to order one. Haha

Many here, struggled to put together enough money to buy their DJI model.

Imagine how long it would take an individual, to save, that can’t get a business tax right off
