Just noticed the new iphone 11 pro is 1200 NITS - does this mean it's actually brighter than the 5.5 inch model?

" iPhone 11 Pro also features a new 800 nits max brightness (typical); 1200 nits max brightness (HDR) display." Also confusing as one says "Typical" other is HDR Display... Would amuse the app would enable HDR Display.

Which the 5.5 Crystal Sky is 1000cd/m^2 = 1000 nits.

ok so it's 800 normally on the phone - and 1200 in 'HDR' mode so you think DJI would make the iOS app force HDR mode on the iPhone? I bet they can't - and even if they could they wont.

So 800 is if you whack the brightness up to max - and is 200 that much less than the CS screens?

The brightness levels of smartphones are a joke. They can only be reached for a short time and after a few minutes the smartphone gets too hot.

The Samsung Note 9 already had 1200 Nits.
The display of the Iphone comes from Samsung.

I agree, prolonged extreme brightness will make anything hot that is why CS are thicker for heat dissipation. Honestly though ive been using an Iphone xs max with no issues with brightness. I also dont fly at 2pm in extreme sunlight though.

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. I'm referring to our valued DJI Forum members who could explain the brightness specification of this iPhone 11 Pro. Thank you!

I have just tested the new iPhone promax. I tested it in normal English weather (not Sunny) but nevertheless a relatively clear day in which I could not have used my mini iPad 4.

I have a feeling that post was made before I was finished. I have just tested the new iPhone 11 promax. It was normal English weather (cloudy not sunny) but nevertheless a clear day in which I could not have used my iPad mini 4 without a sun shield. The results were spectacular without any sun shield whatsoever the image was clear and vivid. It certainly puts to bed any thoughts about a DJ I crystal sky 5.5 inch. The screen is certainly right enough for me and bigger than the DJI crystal sky 5.5 inch. It is also considerably lighter (especially if you include the external battery) and the battery life will be considerably longer than the crystal sky. Suddenly my M2 is really portable. I can fit everything into my standard DJI case and I always have my phone with me. I however I must add a few items to my flying checklist:
1) Turn off the automatic brightness in the display brightness settings.
2) turn on do not disturb in any circumstances
3) turn brightness in display brightness settings to maximum

But you also have enhancement modes on the CS, dont forget that!
