I have put swelling batteries, but enter if you have other problems with batteries, you can also vote twice if you have purchased batteries with problems in more than one month.

I do think it would help if anyone with problems add a post include photo evidence numbers of batteries and damage.
I HAVE ADDED COLUM FOR NO BATTERY PROBLEMS

Thank you .

hm.. well my battery is 06-19 and not swelling but i did once smell lithium offgassing smell like almost a sweet smell when my battery was done and hot after a decent use and push. so it maybe possible. mine may start swelling up if that offgassing becomes a problem or more common. i should been more clear in a post or not voted and posted only

side note: im going to keep my mavic 2 because i landed some jobs under th table with roofers and general contractors and buildings working on new deelopments specifically hiring me out for occassional work and they seem happy to pay decent money to just have me do autotmated grid photos  and investigating some general stuff.  def could use a zoom for this though.   but so much easier then trying to get into real-estate game.

Bought and battery manufacture date aren't always linked.
Maybe change it to clarify its battery manufacture date instead?

(for example the 3 new batteries i had to buy, 2 were made in March 2019, the other Sept 2018.  From the same shop.

Bought the base kit of the M2P in early Jan - second battery later that month and a third in March - all three are still working perfectly after more than 100 recharge cycles between them.

First two are dated 10.2018 as the manufacturer date and the third is dated 11.2018.

Only problem with that might be many won’t know when it was manufactured and those who do can post man date, if I asked for manufactured date many would just say how do I find that.
It’s a whole lot easier for many to just say when they bought. I think the exercise will show how many are having or have had problems. 1st step .

I think the manufactured date would be more scientific.  Batterys could have been in stock for a long time when they were purchased.  I bought batteries last month with are dated 2018.10

I think it would, but getting the information would be a lot more difficult, if anyone knows manufactured date the can post.
What poll above might show is how big is the problem of swelling batteries , while you may have a battery bought in June 19 manufactured in sept 18 these will not be the norm so shouldn’t  throw things out to much, I’m sure on the other hand if there was a bad batch of batteries then dji will be very aware of this, but this poll could show the disappointment of those using this forum who have had problems with batteries .
You will also be aware that your warranty is 6 months from day purchased Not six months from date manufactured.

The real question is what battery chargers are people using?  I've been using the 4x DJI charger and have zero issues.

I use the 4x battery charger, I had two M2P batteries swell to the point where they wouldn't click properly into place on the aircraft. The first instance triggered an in-flight battery connection warning onscreen so I promptly landed. The battery was swollen to a degree that it almost jumped out of the drone by itself. Both these batteries were manufactured in Jun 2018 and had around 20 recharge cycles. DJI offered a 20% discount on two replacements which I accepted. I have a third battery, also manufactured Jun 2018, which is showing signs of mild swelling. I'm watching it carefully.

From what I've read across various forum threads, here and elsewhere, the problem mainly applies to the first batch of batteries released at the Mavic 2 launch in Aug. 2018. I suspect a component or design / manufacturing issue at the outset which DJI are not admitting to and later corrected. In which case a free battery replacement programme would be warranted, regardless of warranty T&Cs.

I have had over 30 DJI batteries from various quads and have never had any issues, I live in a cool climate, actually pretty cold so my batteries never get hot. Years ago a had a multiplex fun jet jet with a mega brushless motor and could easily overheat a lipo battery, whenever that occurred the battery would swell.

Indeed, third party chargers may also be the cause but I think the majority will use the one that came with the drone.

The first batches of M2s used in late Aug and Sep18 mainly had batteries manufactured July or August 18.

Thats the issue here, the monster thread on the other forum is showing a strong (almost total) correlation between batteries manufactured in those 2 months not purchase date.

I know someone that bought a new M2 3 weeks ago, one battery was made Sept 18.  Stock sits around at times before moved.

Thats the issue here, the monster thread on the other forum is showing a strong (almost total) correlation between batteries manufactured in those 2 months not purchase date.

I know of this other thread and there are a couple of ways of looking at this, one is batteries manufactured first showed faults when almost 1 year of use and all of a sudden people say it’s just a bad batch, but are we saying that apart from that period everything is fine or will we just have to wait and see, we don’t know if first made batteries were made for let’s say 4 months supply, that means the next lot of batteries manufactured would have been January and so on, we won’t know how these batteries fare out until they become older.
I’m certain no one knows or could say that only problems with battery’s are those manufactured in July/August.
If we use your analogy regarding batteries left on a shelf, when do you think we will see problems with these batteries is it now because they are a year old or will it be a year after use, I have heard many complain about batteries but when the poll is up we see that batteries that are given trouble are most likely at least a year old.
I have also seen on the forum here dji saying to post photos of bad batteries and the may be able to help, known how things work around here photos and videos get most attention, so I think if you have a bad battery post photo and serial # .

My M1 batteries x4 after 3 years working well .

I have 4 batteries - 2 from September 2018 & 2 from October 2018.

2 of those batteries have not been used (just bought a Fly More Kit). NONE are swollen.

I use the stock AC charger & always let batteries cool before & after use/charging.

Never had a swollen battery but did have a battery error once where one cell was off by .04 V. The battery had a 2017.5 date and had only 31 charges.  Using it now as a charging battery for my wife's reading lamp. Work great for that.
