Good morning,

Can the Phantom 4 Motors with the quick release prop accessories be retrofitted to the later Phantom 3 Pro that uses the 2312A motors?

Best Regards,

Douglas

Hi, thanks for the inquiry. We don't recommend modifying the drone as this process is not in accordance with our after-sales policy. Also, this may cause warranty avoidance in any case that the unit is still within the warranty. Thank you for understanding.

They design new hardware, that always requires a new drone.

Spare Batteries not included. Hahaha

People tend to run away with the idea that specific motors for specific models .. when in fact its far more tolerant than that.

Brushless motors are based on factors :

Can diameter (maximum diameter of the motor)
Can length (length of the can including rear bearing)
Shaft diameter / length
KV rating (RPM per no-load volts)
Maximum voltage / amps  ... watts
Prop size range
Mounting bolt spacing

There is no reason why you cannot change motors as long as the above factors fit. But you must make sure you have all 4 motors of same .. (remembering that 2 x CW .. 2 x CCW).

The Flight Controller will not care basically as what it will do - is with all the data coming in - will alter the motors speed to provide the required command response you ask for. As long as the Flight Controller and its ESC's can handle the watts required by the motors - then all is fine.

There are alternative 3rd party motors for all drones / models ..... its a matter of checking specs and buying accordingly.

I would suggest though - that the original motors are probably the best route as they were designed into the overall format.  They are not exactly expensive either !!
