Im getting tired of the choppy playback on H265 files in Premiere. They play smooth as butter in native Windows playback. But Premiere just cant handle H265.

Have any of you tried the newest AMD processor with playback and rendering with 4K H265 footage?

Considering an upgrade from i7 5930K. Already have the graphics card.

With or without effects applied?

I can confirm playback and editing is much smoother on the Ryzen 3900X CPU.

It still is wonky at times, but its much much smoother. Playing 4K H265 natively now, instead of clunky proxy workflow.

I also got me some NVME SSDs to make sure minimal HDD lag to bring the data into the program.
