For me it means not to send back and get a full refund in the first two weeks after buying it due to being a DOA unit or not quite what I was expecting

I have to admit I'm very curious what they will release next since I'm really looking forward to replacing my MP.

I think the next gen will more than likely conform with the new CE class ratings on the European market which will probably include AirSense and the function to reduce the speed to a max of 3.5mph as an emergency switch (not to be confused with tripod mode). I think they'll look to increase video resolutions to potentially 6K or even 8K on the pro models and keep the drone as light as possible despite being more powerful and feature rich. It will need to be <900g to fly in the A2 subcategory without a certificate of competence. There is also the question of remote ID being installed so police can track the drone from the ground...

The 6K (or even more) would not be high on my list, but CE C1 approval is.
It is holding me back from buying MA2.

Yeah, the MA2 would have been a C1 class as less than 900g and more than 250g - it could even be flown in the A1 subcategory of the open category - TBH - that's where I will be flying it anyway irrespective of what the EU come out with. The thing is if you hold out for say a Mavic 3 Pro or equivalent you could be looking at 1500-2000 euro price tag. The MA2 is exceptionally good value for money. It even surpasses the Mavic 2 Pro is some key areas. It is also noticeably improved on the original Mavic Air and Mavic Pro 1. If you are looking to upgrade soon then I highly recommend the MA2 - and I don't say things like that often.

True.
Still I would love to be able to fly in A1 because that allows me to fly over buildings (without flying over people that are not involved of course)
That way I get (much) more options to fly and get shots I can't get right now.
So I'm holding my money right now.

Not because of the performance of MA2. It would be my weapon of choice right now. No doubt about that.
