Battery recharge cycles ?

There was a post on the forum sometime ago that intimated that if you recharge a flight battery from,  say,  75% to fully charged it will not register as a "re-charge cycle"  

If you charge it 4 times from 75% it will then register ONE recharge cycle.  ie 4 x 25%

I haven't tried it yet,   and am wondering if anyone has an idea or comment on the statement ?
Doesn't seem to make sense to me --- but I have been wrong before !  (Or was I just mistaken ?)

Yes, only the multiple charges of a non depleted battery will add up to one full charge.

Unless the battery is more or less fully drained will it count for one full charge.
