My wife twisted my arm this past weekend, which, coupled with a good financing deal from Best Buy and the fact that Union Pacific's Big Boy locomotive is coming through town next weekend, pushed me over the top. I bought the Mavic 2 Zoom and Flymore kit. I'm planning on taking the Part 107 exam soon as well.

I should have a shiny red skin from Decal Girl for it sometime next week.

I'm studying the various controls and features in the manual, and will take it out for some practice flying/recording possibly as early as this afternoon.

You forgot to mention climbing to 1600' of altitude, and waiting to do so until the battery is already half-depleted!

Definitely, particularly since, coming out of Tucson heading towards New Mexico, it's going to be climbing a grade, though, honestly, that massive steamer is still not going to be struggling against the load it's pulling. Those Big Boys were designed to haul heavy freight trains across the Wasatch Range between Wyoming and Utah, so that string of passenger cars must feel like nothing behind it.

(By the way, the location of the first flight video is where I plan to take some of the first video tomorrow morning. Still haven't fully decided on subsequent video locations on the route to New Mexico)

The music source is listed in the end credits, but it's Eric Matyas' website, soundimage.org . All his music clips are free to use. He only requires that we credit him appropriately.
