I got some information from a guy who know a "DJI Insider" and according to that "Insider"
The Phantom 5 should be release in January 2020
He also mention a Mavic Mini
I know what you're all be thinking..." yeah...yeah...we heard that before " but the guy is a professonnal drone pilot
who happen to know a bunch of other professionnal pilot world wide.
I don't know him enough to trust what he is saying 100% but he seem quite credible.
I guess time will tell...
At least it give me some hope....maybe false hope but "hope is hope"

I personally believe the rumors about the Mavic Mini is coming very soon, but no clue about a bigger January release.

The Mavic Mini isn't really a secret to anybody.  You can look up FCC certifications about it in the FCC database.  They were filed publicly on Oct 8th.

And there have been multiple levels of leaked photos/videos of prototypes of it in the couple of months before that.  

Also, I put no faith in OsitaLV, but the image he posted the day after the Skydio 2 announcement reads like straight up marketing fluff from DJI's marketing team.

That sounds only a little less convincing than all the other DJI "insider" rumours for things that never happened.

There have been many similar rumours that never came to anything.
I've heard a bunch from definite, confirmed DJI insiders.
Until there's something concrete, there's nothing.

In the past DJI has been very good at keeping a lid on things until just a week or two before anything gets released.
Any rumour of something months away has very low credibility.

I've never said that it was going to happen for sure,i was just sharing ...well yes...a rumor that seem credible to me from the source + since the last Phantom release was quite long time ago and i really don't believe that DJI have "kill" the Phantom serie...
I've to agree that a lot of rumours have turn out to be false over the years but you gotta be lucky once in a while...
I might just be naive but i've a good feeling about this one...
Again...time will tell !!

A Mavic mini with a descent enough camera at <250g would be tempting to take to some countries that are more restrictive, but a P5 is no interest to me,  Im more than happy with the M2P and a phantom is just to much hassle to travel with for its size.

Where is that long awaited much anticipated new drone, with a fantastic futuristic removable Hasselblad camera/lens system...?


Coming to a contemporary hobby craft store near to you... hahaha
