I am so disappointed! My Phantom 4 Pro+ V2.0 literally exploded in the air on Saturday. At a distance of almost 1.5km from me, it sounded like a cannon shot, so loud was the explosion. A friend of mine who are years in the drone business and owns a couple of DJI drones says he has never heard or seen anything like this from a drone that explodes in the air. He reckons it must be the battery that exploded. Now I see that I bought it nearly 15 months ago from Dji Drone Deals Cape Town, South Africa, which means out of the 12 months guarantee term, but I really think DJI can replace the aircraft for me, it is after all, a poor fitting or some other internal fault from DJI. The flight records also show that there were no warnings or trouble codes whatsoever.
It’s really disappointing, what if it fell into the nearby dry oats land of 100's of hectares and burned it down, millions of rand’s damage or my child was nearby? I don’t even want to think of all the what if’s. It’s really a disappointment for me, as I never had any problems in the last 14.5 months with the drone. I really hope DJI will sort this for me. I attach photos of the exploded and burned out drone.
