Can't you just run no filter on the camera?

You can.
But the risk of damaging the front lens is present.

i already ask same thing once here. i was aking baecuse i would like to know if this would help to increase sharpness a bit and maybe reduce that flaring when sun gets in right angle (sometimes, this is related to internal light scattering from filters etc).

It has the lens cover that seals it during transport.  A UV protection for those lenses are good when shooting in harsh conditions.

You don't want sand etc. to hit it while landing / taking off.

Of course not running no filter on the DJI drones.
