Yeah, me too!  At this point, I'm just really hoping the Mavic 3 doesn't come anytime soon!  

this needs to come out now so all the experts like you guys can dive in and vet everything before i am ready to buy 6 months later starting in the spring.  i need a second drone, i'm tired of treating my m2z like a drone queen, scared to break it.  

If it's WiFi only, and not RC....I won't be buying it!  Looks nice and compact for sure though!  Would be nice for hikes!

Wifi is much harder in Europe than it is here in the US due silly EU rules limiting radio frequency transmissions.  

OccuSync2 in the M2P/M2Z is such an amazing thing compared to Wifi, but if you keep a direct line of site between the RC and aircraft, I've had good luck with the Spark and Mavic Air.

Of course, my M2P is my main flyer though.  ;)

Yep, I think it is definitely for different types of usage profiles compared to the big boys your profile shows in your lineup.  But like any good wood worker, it can be beneficial to have more than 1 type of saw.

So much meh for this drone.  

So ... is this event going to be live streamed?  Not sure why I'm being notified of an event unless I can somehow participate?

Yeah there's talk of it being wifi which is disappointing to say the least. Had the MA + Spark for a few months and got rid of them for that same reason; wasn't impressed with the connectivity.

I don't think there is an event.  I think they will just do a social media blast like they did with most of their recent products.

Now that i have seen the WiFi only posts i retract my statement about acquiring one of these. I recall now why i never obtained any of the other WiFi only products from DJI....

WiFi is good enough for me. I don't understand why someone wants to fly something that small over a long distances.

Sorry to ruin the party. I don't think I'll be buying it.
It's too light and small for me to fly comfortably, and as for the 245g - I think there's high chance the authorities simply reduce the weight that requires registration and/or license to below the Mini's weight not much later. Just like some countries reduced the requirement from 300g to 250g not long after Spark came out.

Has nothing to do with "long distance". Stable transmission is more important to me. It's a better feeling when you can, but do not have to. The Spark had almost every flight picture dropouts. Whether near or far ...

not always about distance but rather signal quality.  wifi that dji tends to use, which is usually 802.11 G or N has terrible error correction doesnt channel hop, doesn't frequency hop, does not band split, no z-beam or beam forming, uses neighbor friendly CSMA which is what indoor wifi uses and why wifi in tightly packed apartments can suck because hey alrady disobey their own rules and the ones obeying dont speak over others and wait ( reduces link quality), instead of using TDMA  which is less friendly to neighboring wifi but CSMA is already terrible so why not, TDMA wifi is friendly to other TDMA based wifi infact can run to side by side on same channel and frequency and not upset things since TDMA is Time Division based vs CSMA it wouldnt work out if you did that

example of how bad wifi is with dji drones: mavic air and the spark for example i could cause them to lag super hard and even disconnect going behind one huge 200+ yr old tree on my property. i had a couple stupid crashes with my mavic air because of the wifi bubbles around houses when i was trying to fly at street level because of the super inconsistent and hard lag that happens
