The tagline says - "Fly as you are"
Fly - a drone
as you are - without any registration → under 250gms

Any other guess?

That would be my understanding:
Buy it, open the box, fly it.

Unlucky, in Thailand it won't work:

Every drone with a cam has to be registered first.
Even the Tello
(Of course, only in case you follow the legal path)

Same goes for Japan. Although "registration" is not required here, the term “UA/Drone” means any airplane, rotorcraft, glider or airship which cannot accommodate any person on board and can be remotely or automatically piloted (Excluding those lighter than 200g. The weight of a UA/Drone includes that of its battery.).

-"The weight of a UA/Drone includes that of its battery."-

Seeing this the first time, I had the idea that someone wanted to save some weight and "launched" the bird without a battery:

That would be a bummer. I would only change my Spark for this new drone if it’s under 250gr.

Can't believe that!
The leaked pictures showing a size of a RC, folded.
It is remarkable smaller as the Air, which has 430g.
And it makes not really sense, imho, to put "just 80g" down. The Air could (is in my eyes;-) be the "Spark" in the DJI sortiment.

I just not see 30 min flightime.
Somewhere between 15 and 20 (DJI-specwise) would be plenty for such a small drone.
And shaping down the weight to 250g, that could be achieved with a smaller, batt.
I see the 249g as the main target, the other specs "just" had to follow that.
So a 249g. drone with a real flight time around 12+minutes is my idea of what we get.
I think, I want one anyway ;-)

That would make it the number one on my x-mas list.
And the number 2, too! ;-)

My understanding is that in Japan, there is currently no legal requirement to register drones with the government.  Regulation is coming, possibly in 2020, which will require drones to be registered for identification in case of a crash resulting in some type damage, injury, or intentional action.  So for now, any drone can be flown within reason, and whether its the 249g or the 199g it should be authorized for flight.  I know that DJI put a strange error message saying the heavier drone is illegal to fly in Japan due to the weight.  That is not true.  If it is illegal, its illegal for another reason.
