Now that the UK has drone registration, the CAA have confirmed to me that if you lose your drone that you should register the details on their site here - https://dronesreunited.uk/

Im waiting for confirmation if this includes a drone that is stolen, as you dont want the theif to do something ilegal and leave your operator ID at the scene of the crime.
