Wanted to see what others thought. I have had may Mavic Pro from when it was released. Still love it but looking for better quality for my part 107 work. I have sold my Mavic Air for travel and have purchased a Mavic Mini (coming Monday) So size really is not as important. Lots of speculation that the M3P may have the 1" sensor plus zoom. So wait for M3P or get the deal on the M2P?

M2P is a very good drone.

If M2 comes up for sale on BF , buy it it’s a great drone, if 3 comes out in the new year sell it if you want and buy a 3 you might lose a few quid but you will have a great drone and for the most it should hold its value, I have two and if 3 comes I’ll buy it but I don’t think I’ll sell either .

Don't focus on the specs. Focus on the subject

Mavic Pro released in 2016 and after two years later MP2 released  
so MP3 could be released in Q4 of 2020.
IMO, releasing MP3 in 2020 Jan, has less possibility.  

If you need it for paid work, surely get a Pro2 now.

Why loose out on income?

Then buy a M3 or, better, an Inspire 3 as and when/if it comes out.

Much is changing re. regulations. Who knows what is going to happen with Product development.

I would expect it to be around the same size. I think they have geared it more for pros and more interested in adding features. I had bot an Air and a Pro. I used the Air just for travel. I have replaced it with a Mini. The Mini makes the Air look portly.

The problem with this approach is buying when the new model is around the corner. Because NOW the prices wouldn't reflect the fact that a newer model might be released at the same price point of the old one. Also, drones are not released with the same cadence of mobile phones, for example. So waiting for the next one makes sense. We're approaching a whole new AI controlled generation, so I wouldn't invest in old stuff.

Also, new EU regulations are approaching and DJI is forced to rethink their line-up to face the change.

I wouldn't buy a new drone before July 2020, to be honest.

I think it will be lighter. In fact, with the new EU regulations, I think it will stay well under the 900g. With this weight, the drone could be classified A1-C1 in the Open Category, making it more affordable in general and with less problems for amateurs.
With the new EU regulations, old drones will be downgraded to the A3 open category, bringing LOT of problems to people (transponder, QR code, registration, assurance and a flight license).

All this new burocracy would imply a consistent drop in sales for DJI, so I expect the will renew much of their lineup for the year 2020.

I bought my M2P in Sept. 2019......it has paid for itself 4 times over.....I bought at Best Buy the day after the tariffs went into effect......everywhere else it was 1739.....got mine for 1499 that day.

Now I have 6 batteries, the PgyTech camera hood ( works Excellent ) and this thing is unstoppable!......This short shot vid is WHY I got the hood.....it clips into the gimble protector slots.
    Parts of this will go into a TV sales promo.... 12.7mill property!

I have the same shade on my MP. I ended up figuring out how to get the M2P and later the M3P if its worth it. I was able to squeeze it out of my department budget. It was between the Anafi Thermal or the M2P. Couldn't do the Mavic Enterprise Dual in this years budget. Anafi is a bit on the low side of thermal resolution. I have a deal in my cart now for the M2P, Flymore Combo, Goprofessional Case and a bunch of junk for 1899.00.  I also have a Skydio 2 on the way but may sell it before using with the demand so high.  

Yeah,  The Skydio is certainly a niche market aircraft.   Looks good, but not for my business needs.

The M2P is quiet, stealthy, and near greatness!  My clients know about the P4Pro and 20mgpxl cam.....but they WANT the M2P.....My M2P is for everything but Mapping.....that's where the P4Pro shines!!  I have both.

I am hoping that the M3P has a global shutter for mapping. I had the chance a while ago to score a M4Pro for like 899 but at the time had no need for it. Micro Center was blowing them out. Now I have had a few asks for mapping. Just not liking the lugging around bit with a giant go professional case like when I had a P3Pro.
