H; I'm a newbie with a phantom-4 and I have a question about the GPS and the return home function. When the drone is activated and GPS stations are received, the compass indicates normal. But the video sugest that the compass is to be calibrated. Do you still have to rotate the drone counterclockwise in both axis to set a return home point or is the home point automatically set via the GPS?

Cheers

At first you can check if this message appears at different locations. If not, there must be something that disturbs the compass on that specific place. Usually such is steel. It could be in the concrete where you put the drone on, or some magnetic elements near the drone (not more than a few m around).
The calibration could be necessary when you take a new drone out of the box for the first flight. The important thing which you must remember is:
1. Calibrate the compass only when the device says that it's needed.
2. Don't do that at the place compromised with the magnetic properties as mentioned before. If you calibrate it in such environment the compass will be calibrated correctly only for that location. When the drone goes out of magnetic influence such as clean uncompromised natural territory the compass again becomes un-calibrated and  disable normal navigation of the device.
So calibrate the compass only at clear places where no metal or magnetic influence exists (nature). And if calibration is correct, you probably won't need to do it at all or do it very rarely.
