The difference is insane.  You can have the map and the real-time aircraft data telemetry on the same screen and the feed is clean and big.  You can use the XT and GS Pro software that you can't use on Android as well as another feature on DroneDeploy.  The price is $329 and it just came out in September 2019.

The weight balance is so perfect.  Unfortunately, the Inspire 1 Pro feed is garbage.

Apples and Oranges, I have the Note 9 and the ONLY time i will choose that over my Tab S2 9.7" is if i forgot a cable or the like, as the Tab has much more real estate, therefore able to have what you have showing on the screen and much cheaper than the Ipad ta' boot, therefore its not Apple showing more data over Android, its purely the fact that youre comparing a large phone with a large tablet, is the only reason youre seeing more items on screen

I know for me, the difference between the screen real estate of the iPad Mini, & my iPad Air2, was significant enough for me to change it up.

I can’t even imagine how restrictive it would be, using a phone screen. Even a large sized phone.

Almost always fly with the iPhone 11 XS Max and its fine,  the ipad just feels to heavy to me and blocks the view of the controller too.

Ever since I began use of a nice DJI Harness, opposed to flying bare handed or with the basic DJI neck strap, I’ve been completely pain free while totally comfortable flying my four, fully charged, flight packs.

This way, the extra weight, of the iPad Air2 (being quite light already) is evenly distributed, and off, of my arthritic neck. That relief, has been one of my best additions, to the DJI Phantom flight kit.

You really should be able to find all of your radio parameters by touch. They’re very basic.

I’d just tilt the whole affair forward, if I need to visually see the simple radio controls.

There are way more external dials and functions on a regular Spektrum radio like my DX8.
Where there is no impairment from a screen... ;-)

No, it’s light weight, barely noticeable while fully, mentally engaged...


Wearing a comfortable harness, is a wonderful addition for any or all RC pilot’s flight kit..

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. You find it tiring to fly even one battery?

I cant fault the harness, it beats the lanyard any day of the week, i have modified mine with an extra part, it attaches to the metal handle under the RC, , you then bring it underneath to the front, then through the center eye of the harness and it then pulls the harness taught at the centerpoint and clips to the hole on the metal part of the tablet holder, between the sticks . this reduces the crap angle the rc falls to when you let go of it cause of the off balance due to tablet, its prob hard to even contemplate picturing it but i aint getting it out at 3am lol

That was my next thought.
Weight / holding the stuff.

You know, a brief fifteen minutes of flight. Isn’t all that long.

Doesn’t require a whole bunch more energy, flying with a tablet.

With Four fully charged flight packs, and a shoulder harness is mandatory for my arthritic neck.
