Morning,
In this panoramic, the whites / hoighlights are "blown out" I exposed manually at minus .3 and retained enough colour exposure in the shadows, BUT the sunshine areas are waay too bright. An auto exposure during a panoramic doesn't adjust the exposure between each frame (I believe).

How to fix this? Is it a "learn lightroom / photoshop" thing, or is there a camera setting I can work with too?

Reducing the original to less than 2mb has made it look "sucky" too.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Chris

I've run into this problem several times What I found to be the best solution is to recognize blown out highlights, usully at the horizon when composing the image. At this point, generally I will fly higher and closer to the subject and point the gimbal down to remove the horizon from the scene.

Bottom line is you can not recover detail in blown out highlights.

This is the exact reason why I use AEB bracketing for my panorama's.
Waiting for the day DJI incorporates that into a automatic panorama mode.

So you are stuck with making the panorama manually. But that is no big issue.

Aaahh, thank you Peter, now I get it...
When the skies are next clear, I'll try that.  How much of an overlap between each image do you leave?
Thank you!

Yeah, it is the only way to overcome this high dynamic range between sky and ground.
I leave 1/3  to 1/4 overlap, but this is no exact science.

If you have photoshop, open it in camera raw and add a graduated filter, you can then expose the sky a bit better.

Easy - Set it to manual , under expose  slightly in RAW and use lightroom - they will be perfect!  - IS this in RAW?
Expose to the sky - ground will go dark - you can they adjust the ground back in Lightroom with linear gradients

Before and after just dehaze on a linear gradient does this to the sky
