The promo video seems to suggest some sample footage has been used e.g. at 00:07 into the video and oh boy, are those pan shots jittery! Way worse than OP, at least presented that way, but happy to see some competition hopefully pushing DJI to make the next iteration a significant upgrade instead of a minor update.

[edit] Just checked their other youtube videos, which confirm my above observation, but perhaps they can get that fixed with fw updates. Some very nice features there: 400 degree motorised pan, 100mbit HEVC/200mbit h264, bluetooth support for ext mic, the already mentioned live streaming and some others. All these are a must for OP2! Still though, what a brutal design rip off.

When you're making waves, everyone will ride the wave.  DJI is sticking to a sound business model.  They drop a specific product, while already having the newer successor models at least two or three generations ahead in the pipeline.  The next Osmo Pocket will probably have similar features like this knock off.  Maybe the third iteration of the Osmo Pocket (or whatever the name will be) will have integrated wireless functionality, with live streaming and focusing capabilities.  Like always, we will be 'oohed and aahed' over it.  Overall, I do like the features that they included with this Vmate gimbal camera.  It's like someone that was frustrated with some of the features that the Osmo Pocket didn't have, and decided to make their own version.  I understand 'maximizing your earning potential', though I do know that DJI could've well included all of these features on the first go round.  This spacing out of products and limiting features for the next generation, will only spark more frustration and competition to develop things that DJI products lack, that should've been included in the first place.

I don't care what DJI are capable of pushing into OP, I care what already is or soon going to be on the market. It looks like DJI just got a nudge from this new competitor and will have to pack some solid improvements into the next update just to catch up (well, at least on paper), not to mention innovate.

So it's currently a prototype and not in production yet. Shows what can be done though.

Stopped watching when they rotated "the lens" to switch to vertical video...

"400° pan" ! Had to think for a minute 360 +40. Hopefully this will motivate DJI into improving their products, all of them, since there are others out there creating some serious competition AND providing world class service and support (catch a hint DJI)

Yup.  I would have definitely been delighted to have at least a gimbal rotation greater than 180 degrees and a built in wireless function.

Still, as of yet I've found no real specs on the audio.
Video bit rate is much higher despite using H265, (good thing, bad thing?) Will it need bigger maybe faster SD cards? No mention of phone compatibility or tests with different makes and models. No mention of operating system requirements needed for app. Although battery is larger, the current consumption is higher. I do like it does 240fps though. I also like the larger screen and lack of (as far as I know)  a specialist audio adapter and the base screw mount. All good things. Why do they do crowd funding when they have other current production runs? Just to judge demand?

High bitrate using H265 is a very good thing and there is lots of cards that can cope with that with ease. The challenge is that the continuous write at 200mbit/s (for H264) typically produces a lot of heat, so I'm curious to see if they can deliver on this and other promises.

The audio is a big thing.  I'm still very surprised on how well the quality of audio is on the OP.

No idea whether it's a scam, but what they present as sample footage does not look to be coming from OP, it's visibly inferior.

The Fimi device does indeed have some interesting features.  Unfortunately it has a very wide angle lens which rules it out for most people - the resulting image quality isn't in the same league as the Pocket.

Too wide FOV and the smaller sensor size are quite unfortunate indeed.

PS: I wouldn't have minded a 18mm eq. lens though (like the frewell add-on for the pocket)
