Whether you’re soaring high across a series of mountains or through a picturesque valley at rapid speeds, FPV drone flying is undoubtedly an experience of absolute freedom. Now, you can showcase that experience to the world. DJI will hold its very first FPV Video Contest for hobbyists around the globe. This will be an excellent opportunity for FPV drone freelancers to show off their skills and promote the beauty of the hobby worldwide.


Prizes:

1st prize: DJI FPV Air Unit

2nd prize: DJI FPV Air Unit Module

3rd prize: DJI FPV Camera

Additionally, all selected winners will have their work featured on our official social media channels.

DJI will also have a special give away for participants. All you have to do is post a picture of your FPV drone to your social media account with the hashtag #DJIFPVLife and a short description explaining why you like FPVing. Once the competition is over, participants screenshot their post and upload it to the DJI Forum. The top five people with the most post likes will receive USD$30 in DJI Credit!


How to Participate:
Participants will have four weeks to submit their videos using the DJI FPV System. All videos should be uploaded to either SkyPixel, YouTube, or Vimeo. After, participants should share the video link on the DJI Forum( The thread title need include the hashtag #DJIFPVLife). You are also encouraged to share your videos on your personal social media accounts with the hashtag #DJIFPVLife in the caption.  Once the submission period has closed, a panel of three judges will select the winners.

Rules:
1. All videos must be between 30-60 seconds, and descriptions must not exceed 100 words.
2. Participants must use the DJI FPV System to create their videos.
3. All video content submitted must be original. Moreover, it should not display violence or any illegal activities.
4. Failure to adhere to these rules will result in an automatic disqualification.


Start Time:
The competition will begin at now - Dec 22.


Notes:
1. Participants must follow the rules and guidelines above to confirm their participation in the contest. Only using the hashtag, #DJIFPVLife, does not qualify your video as an official submission.
2. By participating in this competition, you agree to allow DJI to use your name and photo on its official social media channels if selected as a winner.
3. The contest was jointly launched in the DJI forum at home and abroad, with a total of three award-winning users selected.
All questions regarding the competition should be uploaded to the DJI Forum.

I see it's a camera on a box, but how do you use it/what's the purpose? Looked at the product description when you go to buy, and that didn't really help...

this does not really make sense to me...
You need to obviously have a fpv system already to do this, but the prize is either part of the system or a whole system. Sooo... i guess if you have a bunch of kit drones that need an extra fpv system? Backup if you crash in the ocean?
And i have a M2Z and the goggles re, so i could technically shoot some fpv with that in zoomy styles...
Seems like a missed opportunity to cross promote, and offer a new mini as a prize. Watch this thread light up! Video city!

I don't think I should join the FPV game. I already own too many drones. I do REALLY like FPV videos though. Can't wait to see the results.

Awesome contest! Wish I could participate.

Maybe someday I will be able to afford the FPV kit, but for now I will have to settle with the Osmo Pocket during the Black Friday sale

i still don't quite get what it is. it appears to be a camera in a stationary box - so - what does the camera do? is that supposed to *attach* to a drone? or..... what?

I agree with the majority of commenters here for once. Isn’t requiring participants in a promotional contest to buy or already own a product to be eligible to win, a bit abnormal? Besides any ethical dilemmas, DJI is missing a huge opportunity to put their new FPV system in the hands of someone who may be immensely talented but otherwise unable or possibly unwilling to make the investment, based solely on the fact that person hasn’t already bought what you’re promoting. Seems like a wasted opportunity to get buy in from potential influencers outside of your normal market.

I assume this means DJI wants the video recorded by the DJI FPV system ( air unit or goggles ) and not just that you used the DJI system to fly the drone and did the HD recording on a GoPro right?  Bummer, because as nice as the DJI system is, the GoPro footage is still a lot nicer

So it seems when you look in the 'rules' of the contest.

I guess it should show the capabilities of the system. So thats ok. If you have to record it with the air unit. Still the Air units records the best footage compared to all the other split cams.

One day I hope to learn how to fly fpv.
