Don't think so, you need to use the battery charger. BTW the Osmo Mobile can be charge using the 3.5mm port

I am sorry to say that the 3.5 mm port only function is for connecting to a external microphone and it is not used for charging the DJI Osmo+. Thank you for the replies. It is what I thought but never hurt to ask.

It is a piti that they discontinued the external battery extender for the osmo series. I have been looking for one for a couple of months with out success.

Is there any other alternative to power the osmo+ besides the battery and the extender(not available anymore)?
