A little fly around All Saints Church in East Horndon, Essex. Released in 8K.
There are two legends recorded concerning the church. The first, allegedly from the 13th century, tells of a terrifying dragon which escaped from a foreign ship on the River Thames and took up residence in the local woods between Heron Hall and the church. A local knight, Sir James Tyrell, undertook to deal with the threat. He armed himself and overcame the beast but died of his exertions.
It appears that he had been asked to kill a serpent-type animal which escaped from a ship in the Thames and roamed the woods round the manor of Herongate and the church, terrifying the people. He managed to slay it, chopping of its head, but he died . His son, looking for him, trod on a bone of the animal and, gangrene setting in, he lost his leg. There is a glass window at Heron depicting a one-legged man.
During the medieval period, it became increasingly popular for the upper echelons of society to keep exotic pets, imported from across the known world, a trend inspired by and reflected in the popularity of bestiaries and books depicting real and mythical animals. The Tower of London itself had a huge and popular menagerie that remained active until the early 19th century. It is possible that Sir James really did kill a terrifying creature - perhaps a snake or large reptile that had escaped from a ship’s hold. The legend, having been handed down from father to son for many generations, was recorded in 1695 by John Tyrell of Billericay, descendant of the Tyrells of Heron. The events described appear to have occurred at the end of the 13th century in the vicinity of All Saints' Church.
The second legend is that Queen Anne Boleyn's head or heart is buried there.
"Thus perished Anne Boleyn at the age of thirty-six, an example of the fleeting favour of Princes... Others assert that her corpse was interred at East Horndon, in Essex, and a black marble monument is pointed out as the place of sepulture. It is so short that some have thought it may have contained only her head or heart."
-Benton, 1888
Heart burial was a relatively common practice during the medieval period. Although it had largely fallen out of use by the time of Anne's execution, it persisted across Europe until the 19th century.
The redundant red brick Anglican Church of All Saints at East Horndon glows red in the light of the setting sun,is now victim to new roads, bypasses, shrinking rural population and now serving an economically depressed area, it sees few visitors.
But maybe a few spirits

In Final Cut Pro I created a new project at 8k and then added the 4K footage, it then upscales to 8k when exporting. It’s a bit like when they remaster old films.

there is a glitch at 1.10 or was that deliberate. i think it would be better with a voice over saying the history like you said because that was quite interesting. surely it is still 4k but blown up to 8k with pixel doubling? well maintained church and great subject .
