I tried to make a 360-pano in the autumn forest  with the help of my sweet couple -  OSMO Mobile 2 and Xiaomi Mi5S.
A lot of fuss, a lot more than if my old Mavik Pro did this panorama ...


Autumn forest in the mountains near the village of Shabanovskaya in the Western Caucasus


If someone is interested in the process: The shooting procedure takes about three minutes. On a tripod - shooting in panorama mode, a 180-degree turn, panorama mode again. Two rows of frames in a circle above, frame up. Two rows of frames below, take off the tripod, frame down. Not the best camera of my Xiaomi Mi5S allowed, however, to make a panorama of almost 200Mp - here is what  (360-citises) happened in the original ( SkyPixel does not accept a size of more than 50Mp).

Yes, this is the result of an experiment - a confirmation of a reasonable compromise.
Busily, quality is noticeably worse than what I can get from my Mavik Pro. But it is also noticeably better than those frames that can be obtained from a 360-camera (which costs separate money).
But noticeably less trouble if I used my DSLR on a special tripod for shooting.

Yeah, I'm still looking for 'the best' way to make those.
So far I have not found my optimum.
(cost vs quality).
I did try low end 360 camera's like the samsung gear 360 but that was not good enough.

if you do 360-pan in the way described here at least once a week, this is the best in terms of price / quality ratio. Problems can appear in cramped rooms (due to the mismatch of the photo axes). But I tried to do it in my tiny 4x4m bedroom - quite worthy!
If you do less often, I forget the sequence and it takes time to remember how to shoot without errors and what to pay attention to.

If DJI finalized his software DJI GO (for Osmo Mobile 2) for such tasks, it would be easier:

• RAW mode when shooting panoramas.
• and the Panorama mode itself would be nice to supplement with two more rows of photos on top and two at the bottom.

Very true!
For now the Mavic Pro does a reasonable job. BUT when you are (too) close to objects I don't always get good results.
