An old problem I gather from internet.

Had distortion problems for awhile but haven't used my Phantom 4P in over a year.

Updated RC to 01.04.01.00
Updated AC to 01.05.0600

I've connected aircraft via Litchi and DJI GO 4 apps and both get this distortion making it almost impossible to see what the camera can see.

This happened to my Phantom 3 and DJI repaired/replaced something for $170 a few years ago.

Is this an issue that happens a lot?

After talking to DJI, I tried using my iPhone X and the transmission was clear!!  My Samsung Galaxy Tab s 8.4 must have developed problems.
