Hi, I'd like to take a month's time-lapse plants grow video, and am using an Osmo Action. I plan to power this set-up externally and leave it running for weeks. From reading the camera instructions it appears the longest interval between shots is 30 seconds.
1. Is there any other option/way to have a longer interval, such as 30 minutes or 1 hour?
2. If so, what shooting parameters will still be accessible, or limited? Eg. RAW?
Thanks

Hi, thank you for reaching out. You can check the option of the DJI Osmo Action under interval settings for you to change the interval and duration when shooting timelapse. Swipe from the bottom going up and go to Video-Timelapse. You may refer to the image below. Also, the available format that Osmo Action support would be JPEG and RAW+JPEG. Hope this helps. Thank you for your support!

Hi,

Yes, I refer to to the setting in the image, however, I want to set 30minutes or 1hour as an interval setting. The setting in the image only allows us to set 30seconds as maximum interval, as I want to make a plants grow timelapse over a month, 30s interval is way to fast.

Hi, thank you for your response. As of the moment, we only have the interval time stated on the screenshot and we don't have the 30min or 1hour interval settings. However, I will take this as a suggestion and will forward it to our designated department for attention. Thank you for your understanding and support!

No.  You must watch for updates per DJI, was it 30 Sec  tops.

Agree! Change the update intervall for timelapses on action cams please to 30 minutes or 60 minutes. The usecase is too small with 30 seconds only.

Hi, I'm working on a time lapse project for a civil construction. Would be possible to shot pictures for a long term (2 or 3 yers) with a Osmo Action? I am planning shot pictures in 10min intervals for this project, with 5 camras. May DJI help me with this, maybe offering new features on a new firmware?
- AC power
- custom interval
- wifi/app (time - week days) settings
Thanks in advance. Regards.

Hi there. We appreciate your feedback. When using the Timelapse feature on your DJI Osmo Action 4, the interval can only be set to 0.5s/1s/2s/3s/4s/5s/6s/7s/8s/10s/13s/15s/20s/25s/30s/40s. We will gather this concern of yours as a suggestion and will forward it to our engineers for attention. After the evaluation of the engineers, significant suggestions or requests will be implemented via the firmware update, app update, etc. Thank you for your understanding and support.

I'm also working with a civil construction and would like to use my Action 3, but with these limits is very difficult
Please, help us with long term intervals
That's the first thing that I had to complain about this camera
Otherwise, I'd have to buy a gp12

It would be obvious to be able to choose whatever interval and duration.
And why not implement a calendar.

This is also a huge disappointment to me. I bought the Osmo Action 4 for the specific purpose of taking long-term timelapses with intervals measured in minutes or hours. I want to capture nature, for example a tree going from winter to spring to summer to fall. I thought this would be the perfect camera because it’s small and waterproof, and can be powered via USB-C-connected solar cell. But I’m very disappointed that it’s limited to 40s or less. I’m seriously considering returning it, if there’s no imminent plans to provide this feature via a firmware update.

Yes, this is a very baffling limitation. It should be obvious that a time lapse function needs to support intervals in the minutes and hours range! We already have a GoPro 11 that we mount on the wall of refurbishing projects to record the progress across weeks. Recently we purchased two Osmo Action 4 cameras to go with our DJI lineup of drones and Osmo Pocket 3, assuming we'd be able to replace the GoPro for this. I was very surprised - and disappointed - to now learn that it barely supports 30 second intervals! The GoPro has intervals of 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 30s, 1m, 2m, 5m, 30m, 60m, which is a reasonable selection. I cannot understand why DJI has the ridiculous list of settings it has. Fixing this is just a matter of changing some numbers in an internal table in the firmware. I hope DJI wakes up and addresses this ASAP.

Recently, I bought two GoPro Hero 12. I realized that it was terrible battery time on these camera and one of the cameras didnt even charge the battery. After searching online, I found that DJI has much better battery time. So now I have bought one Osmo 4. I am as disappointed as above forum writers about top 40 seconds! As some say, It is just a matter of adding time in the interval list!
This is really a shame DJI! Your biggest competitor has 60 minutes and it is a shame that you are waiting with adding AT LEAST the same amount of interval time as GoPro! I also want to take timelapse of plants and other slow changing events! Add it! Now!

The max time interval of 40 seconds is a joke. I would really like to see 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 minutes

Hello,

I recently purchased the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro to document long-term projects like plant growth. For these projects, I need the camera to automatically take photos at specific intervals (for example, every 30 minutes) and later compile these photos into a time-lapse video.

However, after exploring the camera, I noticed that the time-lapse feature only records videos. What I need is the ability to take photos at intervals and then use those images to create a time-lapse.

Does anyone know if the Osmo Action 5 Pro has an interval photo feature or another way to achieve this? This feature is crucial for me, as I bought the camera specifically for these kinds of projects.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Hello there, also working in the civil construction field. I bought the Osmo Action 5 to record a long term timelapse of the reconstruction of a public square. For this I figured I would use the timer shooting setting of the OA5, so it wakes up daily at 7:00 am and start shooting a timelapse with 5 minute interval. But when setting the length of the timelapse duration, the longest option is 5 hours, or infinite....

What I really need is an option to shoot an 8 hour, or 10 hour timelapse, to cover a full (working) day of constructions. With the current limitation of 5 hours or infinite, I either have the option to cut each day short (suboptimal because the timelapse would miss around 3 hours of the constructions each day) or let it run indefinite on infinite setting, thus having it shoot 16 hours of useless material per day. The latter obviously resulting in heaps of extra raw files which take precious space on the card and make the editing process much more labor intensive.

Long story short, please DJI can you add at least the option for a 10 hours duration of timelapse shooting? Also a 10 minute and 15 minute interval per picture would be nice, the jump from 5 minutes to 30 minutes makes little sense to me. Thanks for understanding!
