Is there a way to fine tune gimbal calibration? The auto calibration seems to leave about a 10 degree off balance causing horizon not to be level.

Ten degrees?  There's something wrong there.  Have you balanced the phone correctly?  Others have had problems around the 2 degree mark which seem to be due to their phone not being held squarely in the clamp due to protruding phone buttons.  This can be fixed by mounting the phone in such a way that it's level in the clamp.  But ten degrees is another whole issue.

Yes you are right. I figured out how to get it down to 2 degrees or so. But it is still very noticeable at any distant horizon or architectural.

Check closely that there is nothing causing the phone to be held crooked in the clamp - case, buttons, whatever.  All you can do to straighten it is to use something like a little piece of card the right thickness to level the camera in the clamp.
