It sure is,  this beach is quite sheltered and can get very busy.  There's a nice restaurant/cafe overlooking the ocean - it's beaut.

Pub ?  Oh yeah,  be "sun smart"  stay in the shade !!

Forgot to mention in earlier post that the red roofed building to the left of centre is Bunbury High School.  What a piece of real estate for a school !
Wouldn't mind it in my Christmas stocking

Yeah, that's the sort of location you would expect a Catholic High School to occupy.

Sharks ......  well if you go into their habitat there's always a chance of getting bitten I suppose.
In reality the shark threat is so over-played by the media it's a joke.  We spend millions of dollars catching & tagging a few Great Whites for 'research'.  It doesn't change the numbers that are our there though.

"According to the Australian Shark Attack File, kept by researchers at Sydney's Taronga Conservation Society, there have been 1045 shark attacks in Australia since records began in 1791, and 236 of them have been fatal.Jul 25, 2015"

Meanwhile :  "Quick Stats. Australia has seen over 190,000 fatalities since accurate car record keeping commenced in 1925. Every year since 1970 has seen a decrease in the road death toll with numbers dropping from 3,798 in 1970 to 1,145 in 2018."

Which would you rather - swim or drive ?  I suppose to put things into perspective you'd have to calculate the number of person/hours over the given period for each activity - I'll just stick to the simple facts.

For safety reasons,  I'll just walk to the park & fly my drone -
Oh Bugger !  Forgot about the snakes:

"Between 1979 and 1998 there were 53 deaths from snakes, according to data obtained from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Between 1942 and 1950 there were 56 deaths from snakebite recorded in Australia."

I wonder what your chances are of getting your leg chewed off by a shark, bitten by a snake, and hit by a runaway drone all in the same day? (all while Scomo is watching)

I think you'd be having a real bad day if any two of the three got at you !??
Don't go in the water,  leave your drone at home & you'd be pretty safe - snakes generally leave you alone unless you are challenging them.

Must admit,  we have no shortage of beautiful beaches in Oz,   miles & miles of em.  We probably take them for granted.  We have some lovely spots especially up North of WA and the East Coast.

Shark ends up in our tummies also.  Quite a favourite from the Fish 'n Chip shops.  One of the best eating reasonably priced fish there is.   I hasten to add the shark we eat is not White Pointer or Grey Nurse etc more a school shark.
Couldn't fancy eating part of one of the larger predators  - you never know what you may get a mouthful of ????

Yer well,  I'll pass on any temp below 10C ....  that's PLUS 10 by the way !
Seriously,  whilst we couldn't survive your winter temps,  we do enjoy the cool winters of the SW corner of WA.  We spent most of our working lives "up North" and feel we have served our sentence in the heat.
