Greeting!
How best to upload a video to youtube so that 2.7k video resolution can be selected? When I process a video with the DJI Fly app is it 1080 HD? Need some simple recommendation. Thank you!

I've uploaded straight from the sd card filmed in 2.7k and youtube has yet to give me a selection of 2.7 k. 1440 is the best I've ever got from youtube. I can't seem to figure that out either.

Did u wait some time after upload? When I upload some video in 4k it take some time before it its possible to watch it in 4k. In one hour after upload its possible to watch in HD only..

Are you using the cached video file or the actual file from the sd card inserted in the drone?

Try downloading the video from the sd card to your computer, edit it and then upload to YouTube.

Also YouTube can take up to 48 hours to render the highest quality video. Sometimes I won't see even the HD version for a few hours.

I upload all my clips to YouTube in 4K, and I get 4K versions. YouTube takes into account your link speed in what resolution versions it offers you, and as noted by two of the posters here, YouTube does a lot of processing once the upload finishes, and as the other resolution versions are created, they become available. The highest resolution versions are processed last. 2560 x 1440 is 2k because the horizontal resolution is over 2000.

1440p is the max we get unless we upscale to 4k in post process.

1440p is 2560x1440 and our video is 2720x1536 so youtube scales it down to the closest resolution.

Yeah, I know it don’t make that much difference unless you up it to 4K. Just an ocd thing of mine I guess, lol

If you are watching on an apple device Youtube limit the resolution to 1080,  you'll need to be in chrome I believe to see the full resolutions.

I always use the youtube app on my apple devices. I can select the resolution like when I'm using a PC that way.

You can select a resolution but you are limited to 1080p as YouTube uses a proprietry codec they call VP8 and and VP9 which is not supported on apple devices, and they refuse to use apple supported codecs or port it across.

Sad isn't it,  we have devices that have very high res and high quality screens and Youtube pulled support.

As I know, YouTube does not support 2.7K (2704x1520), dude. Check this table to see what resolution is supported on YouTube.

If your drone didn't record video in 4K or 2K (absolutely there is no 2K option in DJI drone), you can change the resolution in post-editing

Hope it helpful

Today I recorded a 10min 4K video in with new DJI Mini 2. When I checked the SD Card in my computer it was split in 2 4Gb long, so I tried to patch them together with the DJI software, but they had been reduced to 1080 resolution in my cel phone. So I downloaded Lightworks free version, it worked fine, but could only be exported in 720 resolution, so it was uusable. What is the smartest cheapest way to upload footage from Mini 2 larger than 4Gb in 4K to Youtube?

Thanks for the Chrome tip.  I’m on a 2022 MacBook Pro.
