You shoul pay attention to the antenas positionning, i had no problems with a 400m horizontal distance , you should not loose control at this low altitude straight vertical over you.
Have a look on the user guide about the way antenas work, that could help.
Good flyes and tests, keep carefull about aérial trafic.
