So this new update did NOTHING for unlocking the BLUE zones.
RC firmware is also now updated to 1.00.0400
FLY SAFE data base is 1.00.01.17      I guess we now have to wait for this to be updated to fly these $400 bricks.

Releasing a product to market for the christmas buying season rush before the software is ready is pure greed by the marketing arm.

This is my first drone and my first DJI product and so far im not impressed with this company.

So lets see now how long it will take to REALLY be able to use this Mavic Mini.

Well here in the USA it wont lift the restriction in a blue zone yet.

Could you please explain how the unlocking procedure really worked with the new 1.0.4 App?
DJI support cannot help and I cannot use the self-unclocking license that I have on my controller… the drone doesn't try to use/link it…
What shall I do?

Hi, you should download the app from the dji site. The link even if showing version 1.0.3 takes to version 1.0.4

I’m not sure about that, I’m still getting fixes for my phone 18 months old, skydio released their drone American company without telemetry, which is a lot more serious, welcome to the world of tech

1.0.3 is what the google play store has as of right now.

I guess thats the problem here.

Apple / Google needs to rollout new app on their servers, this can take a while to make it available for everyone.

You can find the latest version here https://www.dji.com/it/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly if not available in the store

OK,  so the google play store doesnt have the 1.0.4 version.

im downloading it from dji...  i hope this fixes it.

1.0.3 is what the google play store has as of right now.

Just download straight from the DJI website. The link goes to 1.04.

Unlocking works only when you try to lift off your drone and then follow procedure to unlock restricted zone. Link on site says 1.0.3 but actually gives you 1.0.4 so precudre is:
1. Download and install app from DJI site
2. Update ac, rc and battery firmware
3. Try to lift off drone while you are in blue zone and follow procedure

Yep all set now.   

The New App Version for Android didn't work on my S10. The old works fine. Always White screen

I updated with the phone (iPhone 7x), and got message installation successful. Also, when I go in on the setup I can see 1.0.4 installed and I also get message that the latest version is installed. This also includes the database.

I haven't been able to test the area that is blue zone for me yet. But if you've got all three devices updated, going from what others have posted, it should work. Is it possible to do a screen record of your attempt to unlock the blue zone? I'm sorry if it's not convenient for you. Just trying to help.

I see AFTER the auto land that the the app gives the information  I am in an restricted zone which is not the case... Hmmmm Else it prompts me about authorisation zone. Only way to take off is without GPS though.

Is your phone in airplane mode ?

When you ask for a unlock sends you a SMS, did you do that?

I have had most of the Issues people have stated above but am now able to fly. This is the Procedure:

1) Update the DJI Fly App from the DJI Website.... The Apple App store does not have the latest one. Use this link  https://www.dji.com/mobile/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly

2) Switch all on with internet connection to your phone and update all firmware..... I had to do this twice for some reason but I got messages.

3) Try to take of and you will get a message. Tap on unlock...…. A new window will open and you have to give you mobile number and they will send you a 6 digit code.

4) Type in the code. You will then be asked 3 simple questions.

5) It should then unlock the Zone

This worked for me.

The main thing is you must have DJI Fly 1.0.4 which I think is very hot off the press so you have to get it from the DJI Site as the link above. Also note it is labelled wrong

Hello, it is probably combination of sun during the day (if there is any)  and heating in the house, , which warms up whole building, roof including.

You SHOULD be taking over the executive in CHARGE of SERVICE / SUPPORT. This is by FAR the BEST solution given outside DJI!!! Great.

I am now able to fly my MM in my house, yard, and neighborhood, which resides within a blue zone. after a few verification, entering phone number, and checking a few liability boxes, all is working.

make sure to update both the AP and the mm firmware.

The snow will usually melt off the roofs before it melts off the ground. Like right now, where I live in CO, nobody has any snow on their roof but there is plenty on the ground. Yes the ground does insulate it as well as the heat that rises through the roofs of the buildings helps to melt the snow faster.

Would be good for those that have successfully unlock blue zone to list what country they’re form. Yes you can see that on the user info from a PC or Mac but user country is not shown while reading the forum from a mobile
