I have been using my Samsung S8 with the DJI Fly app with my Mini Mavic. The S8 is 9.0 and 64bit system. I looking for recomendations for a 7 or 8 inch tablet? I'm unable to load the DJI fly app on my Samsung Tab A , 2017 model, even though it is Android 9.0. I'm assuming that is because it may not be a 64bit system.

iPad mini 2019 - iOS
iPad mini 4 - iOS
Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 - Android
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 - Android

For all tablets, you must purchase a longer interface cable.

I use an Ipad Mini 2 for ~130 Eur works great.

Ipad Mini 5 is the safest bet from an obsolescence point of view

I feel my Ipad Mini 4 is reaching it's limit performance wise with DJI Fly (it's not even fully featured yet),  although it still goes ok with DJI Go4

I use apart from my  phone, the XIAOMI MY PAD 4 tablet. It works perfectly, and IT IS NOT IN THE COMPATIBLE LIST that says you consult DJI, like many other models.

You can pickup a used Asus ZenPad Z8s on ebay for around $100.  Octocore processor,  bright 2.7K screen, aluminum back.  Fly runs great.  A couple other benefits:  You can insert a MicroSD card & format it as internal memory so you'll have tons of app-usable memory.  Built-in LTE.  It's a Verizon tablet but disable the 3 Verizon apps, insert a compatible SIM, & you've got LTE coverage.  I have a T-mobile SIM installed in mine.

The Ipad Mini 4 for me has been extremely reliable, in 5 years it has never had one issue/glitch/app crash etc. either with DJI Go4 or DJI Fly while flying,  even after upgrades to the IOS and the apps.

The only issue is that the screen could be brighter at only 450 nits, but we can't have everything

I’m using an iPad Air 2 myself. Nice size screen, can find them used as really good prices too. Move is the cellular version but I don’t use it that way.

Ipad is still not the correct app it is just a stretched phone app and I think works terrible

It doesn’t appear that way on mine. It did at first, but not after upgrading from iOS 10 to iOS 13.

Works on this cheap $80 Android tablet

Onda V10 3GB 32GB MTK6753 4G 10.1" (1920x1200) IPS Android 7.0 Tablet

Screen is very dim though I wouldn't recommend in bright daylight

Im using a Samsung tab 5se because I didn't want my cell phone interfering with inflight operations, so far it's been awesome!

Only 273 nits of brightness, it will struggle outdoors without a hood.

I've flown with the Samsung galaxy tab s3 and it connects and operated will. The problem I had was besides the cable connector it's just to large for my liking but great for editing in the Fly app.

Just returned my Samsung tab A7 and got the Huawei t5, runs ok. The Samsung was loading the DJI Fly app but could not see the movies. it has an obsolete MP4 decoder H264 instead of H265.  The Huawei T5 could not find the app on the store but manually installing worked very good.

Thanks for posting this, I have one of these tablets and was wondering if it would work.

It's really a bummer that many tablets won't work. I was hoping to use my Samsung Tab E 8" and it won't load the app.

Does the tablet need to have cellular or can it be wi-fi only?

I just tried this with the Walmart brand tablet and it didn't work I don't know if it's because of an update in the software from DJI or what but it's not working now
