Anybody use a dedicated cellphone for the controller?
I thought it would be a good idea to do so.
Because it could cause problem if a phone call comes in during the flight.
My question is: does DJI Go 4 need to connect to the Internet during the fly using cellular network?
The Go4 app will only use the Internet to obtain map information, but it is not essential to do that as you can pre-load the map at home before you go out to fly. The app has no other need to connect to the Internet.
I recently upgraded my phone. I factory reset the old one(Nexus 5X), removed the SIM and installed a minimum of apps alongside DJI GO 4. It works brilliantly. Better than what I normally use, which is a Nexus 7 (2013). Quicker to connect, less lag and no fractured video link. Only problem is screen size, apparently bigger is better.
Hello and good day bonmot. Thank for reaching out and for the inquiry. During the actual flight of your drone DJI it is best and it is recommended to put your mobile device to airplane mode to minimize interference from calls and text. Thank you.

Google search says a lot of people just use the stock clamp for the iPad mini 2/4. They work just fine.
Do you like this configuration?
I use an ipad bigger than the ipad mini even though I used a mini before and it was hard to hold on to the RC.

Thanks. First hand info is always useful. Probably I will keep using my iPhone 7 (New battery installed today) for a while before spending another $400 on a Mini 4 and a bracket.
