In the Moscow region, there are so many different airfields that to fly freely 1. 5 miles you need to go to another state. And it's snowing hard right now...
I always wanted to live where it is warm and there are large spaces!

Interesting to see so many wind generators, and only a very few are working. The video clip is good, but a touch under-exposed, however I suspect it was a dull day?

I think you did an excellent job.  I am trying to learn, and it's hard to coordinate rotating the gimbal down or up smoothly while also changing the direction of flight, etc.  I think you did well.  I'm finding it hard to make smooth movements.

Interesting subjects to watch, too.  The locomotives parked and then driving away is nice and a bird's eye view of the wind generators is fascinating as well.

I'm actually amazed that you were able to fly with the breeze being enough to make the turbines operate even slowly.  Around here, it's so windy and usually gusty that I'd fear that any time the local wind generators are moving, it might be too windy to fly the little Mini.

I liked it!

You are correct it was mostly cloud cover. Wish we had camera controls while in video mode

Thanks Sigmo. Wind was 7-10mph with gusts up to 15mph according to UAV forecast but the mini handled it well. The  movement through space while manipulating multiple variables is still tricky for me but I’m learning. The gimbal manipulation seems to be the one variable my brain keeps forgetting to adjust

Super impressive video with some interesting scenery.  I'm always amazed at the size of the windmills.

Thx DowntownRDB. they seem to be about 250ft high, and much higher if you take into account blade length. Intimidating to fly around for sure!

There is a point where you can see a guy walking his dog and they look tiny - gives you a good idea of perspective.

Nice video.  Would make a great documentary on how incredibly useless & overrated wind power is for energy production.   There must have been at least 100 turbines & only two small ones appear functional.

Totally agree with you. Actually there are over a 1000 turbines and less than 5% of them spinning despite a rather windy day. Makes me wonder who manages them.

Do you really call the Windmills?  Here we call them Wind Turbines.  Windmills are old and were once used to grind corn into flour.

I’m sure you are correct. I’m just too old to remember the difference
