Drone restrictions in Japan are quite strict for craft over 200g so my heart jumped when I recieved an email from DJI stating that the Mavic Mini is only 200g. (Screenshot attached)
Everywhere else has the weight listed as 250g which I had always known to be the case. Am I missing something? Is there some special version that is only 200g?

Japanese market gets a slightly smaller battery which makes it sub 200g.

Wow that is really confusing for an English speaker in Japan because even the link I click through in that email takes me to a page that states 250g. Thanks for the clarification!

Apparently you can't buy the smaller battery unless you are in Japan.

DJI has a different battery for the Japanese market.

Yeah less power batteries which only give 18m flying time.
I was considering getting some of those, so I could use some extra weight on my mini... hope they will be available.

Hi, thank you for bringing this query to us. The International version of the Mavic Mini weighs 249 grams while the Japanese version of the Mavic Mini weighs 199 grams, as drones under 200 grams are not subject to the drone flight rules according to Japanese aviation law. This means that the Japanese version is lighter than the Internation version because of the battery. Hope this helps. Thank you for your support!
