We stopped in Pisa on the way back to the airport and left the luggage in the boot and went into town.  When we returned we found the car unlocked and everything gone including the hand luggage. Wasn't insured as they said the boot wasn't a secure location. Se later learned that the crooks have a scam going where they hire a car, fit their own tracker and have a new key made.  They then wait for the car to be left somewhere and go and see what they can get.
