I just got a new replacement mavic 2 zoom yesterday via DJI care refresh replacement program.        I flew just 3 minutes and hovered over a field at about 100 feet.       Battery was still in the 90% range, when all of a sudden, it disconnected from controller, and went off grid.         I found it on the ground right where it last communicated.         This is the second time I have lost drone power and had it fall out of the sky,     Second drone to do this, and also the second battery to do this,           I marked the first battery that did this, and yesterday’s battery was not it.   
Drone was powered off when I found it and it would not repower until I changed batteries.  



How, why, any help would be appreciated.       How to prevent future crashes.

I am sorry to hear the accident, Choward. May I know if the drone got any damages from the accident? If so, I may suggest that you send in the drone and your batteries for further investigation. Please contact our support at http://www.dji.com/support to start a case.
