Does anybody have experience with this attachement - gimbal protector? is it worth to use?

I don't think the original gimbal is such a hassle to take off and put back on that I would consider making my drone a 250+g drone, to shorten my flight time and to make my drone more susceptible to side winds.

I have bought this protector. I will use this in special cases, when I fear, that the gimbal might
be in danger, i.e. flying between bushes or trees.
For your info, you cannot leave the protector on, when storing the Mini in the combo case.

Hello and good day Durlano. Thank you for rweaching out and for the inquiry. I hope that you will get the best recommendation from our valued DJI co pilots who uses the said accessory for there DJI Mavic Mini.  Just a reminder that DJI do not recommend you to use a 3rd party accessories on your DJI Mavic Mini. There is a possibility that this accessory will work, however, since it's not yet tested by DJI we cannot guaranteed the reliability of the said accessory when in use. In addition using 3rd party accessories might cause damage or harm on the DJI Mavic Mini while being operated or on flight and can void the warranty as well. Thank you for your understanding and fly safe always.

Take a look at this too. I used it in my last fly with no problem. Also, it fits to the combo case.

Isn't that more of a hood to reduce glare than a protector.

yes it is, but i think it can save the gimbal in some crash scenarios...

I wouldn't want to be the one to test that

It would definitely have saved mine and I wouldn't have to use my first Care Refresh already after one week

Will buy this right now.

Very interesting thanks for posting!
I do believe having something like this can help in a crash, either it detaches or cracks but saving the mini enclosure and gimbal.

i think it is possible to save the gimbal especially in down hard landings...

Yep, it it like adding a second layer of protection.
I own a pair of Adidas sun glasses, which are modular and everything snaps off, I have own them for over 15 years and are indestructible, you can sit on them and they just "click off".
Im guessing something similar would happen with this lense hood, the gimbal being such sensitive part of the drone may have a second chance.
