Hi All,

My Mini crash when auto landing. The drone just straight crash with a high downward speed. I had push upward stick when "quick landing" is noted but the drone was not respond (may be I should press the left button on controller to cancel autolanding?)

Please help to analyze :
https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/2E1RZ79DXPVHYWT3JMIV/

1. 4m50s :  manually press RTH and push left stick up to cancel the RTH height flying.
2. 5m10s : RTH and start auto landing
3. 5m28s : push left stick up and the drone keep go down
4. 5m30s : crash on ground

I noted on the log that the altitude keep going down between 4m55s ~ 5m10s when RTH and I didn't push any stick. Is this normal?

Thank you for helping.

Hello BobWinNV,

Is "Not Enough Force/ESC Error" the reason of direct crash on the ground?

Hello BobWinNV,

Is "Not Enough Force/ESC Error" the reason of direct crash on the ground?

Ignore all of that Airdata stuff, it's just confusing and hiding the simple facts.
Here is what is relevant.

During the RTH from 4:58.9 to 5:10.7, with hands off the sticks, the drone sank from 332ft to 283.5 ft, losing 48 ft in only 11 seconds.
The autolanding at 5-6 metres/sec was faster than specs for maximum descent.

You gave full left stick up from 5:27.6 but it made no difference and the fast descent continued to the crash.

This is another case of an uncommanded descent.
These are disturbingly common and DJI need to do something about the problem.
I would think it should be a warranty case.

Same thoughts, I hope DJI is looking in to this and makes a FW update asap.

Is the Firmware also 1.0.4 ?
I had simelar issues today (gladfully ive was flying in 2m height). My iOS App says to my new drone 1.0.4 is the most rescent firmware so i was flying with 1.0.4.
First issue was an crash to the ground in sport mode after an 30m line flying in sport mode
then i started to investigate more near ground.
Ive flown 2 Akkus down and had this issue 4 or 5 times. Also directly before me in eye-height dropping down to 30cm and seems to recover with vps sensor.
My "old" mini that actual in repair had definitly not such an issue, but iam unsure how long ive flown with 1.0.4.

Edit: the flight logs are on my pad, ive take a look at them this evening

Yes, the firmware was 1.0.4 with iPhone 8 App version 1.0.6.
I had bought DJI care and had exchanged a new Mini with one battery last Tuesday.
And keep the firmware 1.0.3.

Had flied the new Mini on the next day (Wed) and everything is fine. But this time NO manual RTH. No altitude change while return. Manually landing on my hand so NO auto landing test.

I would wish dji dont tell just "Please contact DJI Support" or "Please update the firmare (bad joke when the app update mechanism dont work correct)" but not help to isolate the issue or tell truely whats going on (when they know it).

Ive send my mini to dji support and described my problems with "rotating in sport mode" https://forum.dji.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=205362 in detail.
But they simply ignored this issue. Also an issue with the remote controller. I just can hope i get an refurbished drone and remote controller that dont have the issues anymore.
But my second Mavic Mini has the "drop" problem the first not have... So if i get an refurbished one, it can have other issues... I hope the best.

And the hassle goes on...
Wanted to use DJI Assistent 2 to upgrade the Software since Android AND iOS App tells me both 1.0.4 is the actual Firmware ? WTF ?
Installed... and shows only "Waiting for backend..." no further function. No information in internet about this issue. Here on the Forum DJI has never Answered the Phantom 4 User who had the same issue.
What can i do ?
Why i dont get an 1.0.6 Firmware ?

Welcome to the uncontrolled descent... but the problem has been exacerbated by the auto-landing.

You took a very high risk flying that high with that wind.

Same goes to me. Same thing happened, altitude suddenly drop to zero. Then autolanding started, but it flew away. Now I lost my Mavic Mini. Just bought it two days ago. https://app.airdata.com/share/JeRzVk/GENERALDetails
