For over a year, Osmo Pocket was the only pocket sized gimbal camera.
Pioneering the market segment and with constant update, Osmo Pocket is an ovious choice.
However there were some other competitive devices are announced some time ago.
V-Mate and Fimi Palm.
Fimi Palm is being wide angle and half the price of the Pocket.
V-Mate also being cheaper and offer advance wireless capablity like connecting airpod as your wireless mic setup.
I got my hands on Fimi Palm recently and run some test with it.
I do still love my Osmo Pocket and using it daily then the reason getting Fimi Palm, I wanted a second camera for my family member and I thought wide angle will make it easir to handle.
So below is the result of my testing,
Hope someone finds it useful.
Fimi Palm's wide angle gives some dynamic images but it is still many updates away from the Pocket to become a competition.
Seems they have covered many of the gripes over the Pocket - built in joystick, build in wireless, plug and play mic, .... Time will tell if they ever actually master them.

Thank you for taking the time to review. Nice to see competition even though it looks like in will need some firmware updates.
I wonder how Vmate performs.
They might have a better chance being a competition.
Hi Tide.
Nice useful information as always and I noticed most of what you said at the end during watching the video. I agree it shows promise as when it performs well it gives very nice footage. Awaiting news of how the software updates perform when they come out. You didn't give any thoughts on the cover for it over using the Pocket's case.
Loved your choice of music.
Ray.

Thanks for doing your comparison, I was watching your part 2 just now. I got my Vmate a week ago but seems all 1st batch Vmate came out broken if not DOA. Not ready for prime time. I did some initial test here and it has many problem.
Lets hope the new firmware releasing on Feb 4th will improves things. BUt looks like it's been delayed since Feb 4th is already over in Asia.

Thanks for these samples!
You are probably the only one uploaded Vmate sample videos currently found on the Youtube.
The corona virus situation probably hit the breaks for Chinese developers. So I am expecting some delays but it's always people's safety first.
Pretty good analysis of this Osmo-like competitor. Though it looks like a knock off, it makes sense to no re-invent the wheel with a working formula. I like the features that are built in the current Osmo Pocket lacks, though, I'll stick with the Pocket for now.
