If they came out with a new version of the DJI Osmo Pocket what features would we want them to include? In this video I take a look at some of the upgrades I would like to see in the DJI Osmo Pocket 2. Some features would be easy, others are kinda out there.

We can make a wish right!

Yes we can I actually really like the Osmo Pocket as it is but it's fun to wish to the future.

Built in wireless functionality.  Great than 180 degree gimbal swivel (though I'm cool with 180).  Facial tracking in 4K/60FPS.  Better lowlight camera.

Those are all great ideas.  I do wish the camera could follow you all the way around.  Those would make for some really creative shots.  Thanks.

a bigger sensor is the most important thing for me. I hope, DJI will release an osmo pocket 2 in nearly future ;-)

Yes, a bigger sensor would be great.  Something to give us better low light shots.

1" Sensor with a wider field of view.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in.
Like the Insta360 One R ability to use a bluetooth headset for a mic.
Mic input
little bit larger body with non slip grip
Bigger touch screen.
Joy Stick with adjustable gain.
Tripod mount and cold shoe.
More rotational range if not 360.
Replaceable battery or maybe an extended battery that would form a finger grip.

- 1" Sensor and mechanical shutter;
- Live Streaming;
- Extra battery;
- Default PS2 microphone plug;
- Better screen or at least one that works well under sun light;
- More automatic movements, side-by-side, rotation, up to bottom, etc... it will help a lot when we need to do more than 2 movements in a take, and doing that in a mobile or OP screen isn't good;
- More panorama types (Like DJI Osmo mobile does);
- Tripod and mobile device handle by default on its body;
- Possibility 360° rotation to make 360 panoramas;
- 4K 60 fpc tracking (not only faces, but all kind of the objects);
- Joystick to precise movements (and maybe a trigger like the old OSMOs to hold in tilt position);
- Possibility to adjust sharpness, contrast and vibration like the other DJI apps;
- Standard tripod screw hole to attach other kind of acessories, as extensor or a regular tripod for example.

When the osmo pocket 2 comes out I really hope they go the same route as with the Mavic 2 line with the 1 inch sensor camera and a zoom camera but instead of two different bodies make the camera heads interchangeable. And make the battery swappable too.

FOV is likely to be the most divisive subject, as there is no better and worse here, just different uses and preferences.

That is a great use for a sunglass bag.  I actually bought a leather pouch designed for the pocket which I really like, I can clip it to my belt.  But using an old sunglass bag is a great idea.

ya that would be great.  I haven't used the 1 inch sensor on the Mavic but that would be great on the Osmo Pocket.  That would really help in low light situations, where the OP struggles

Yes FOV is always a tough one.  I use the Osmo Pocket for vlogging sometimes and having a wider angle would be great, but I am not a big fan of adding a wide angle filter.  When I am shooting broll I actually like the current set up.

I think the recently released competitor devices have many features which improve on the Pocket - it's always easiest to build on others' success! - but the quality of execution seems to leave something to be desired.  Perhaps there's not much more than that which can be accomplished within the pocketable format.  Many of the suggestions above would be more like a new version of the original non-pocket Osmo I would have thought.

1. Some means to monitor the sound being recorded in real time would be desirable. I wasn’t aware of an audio recording issue with my Pocket until it was way too late, as we know playing back a video on the Pocket has no sound since the Pocket has no built in speaker. Thus a mic out is desirable.
2. The gimbal is already doing a fine job of stabilizing the camera, except for the vertical motion caused when walking or running. Perhaps if a digital stabilization could be added to compensate for only the vertical axis. The Osmo Action does a pretty good job in that respect.
3. The present sensor size is what makes the Pocket so pocketable, so I’m not going to wish for a 1” sensor which is about twice as big dimensionally as the present one.
4. A slightly larger battery, or a removable battery.
5. An integrated WiFi or Bluetooth. This can address item 1 above

All things considered the no1 improvement for me would be a better dynamic range or at least a good HDR implementation. It's one area where even some mobiles do a much better job.

Wonder if we could at least get the 1/2" CMOS sensor from the Mavic Air 2 in an upgrade of the OSMO Pocket?

If there will be a OP2, I am pretty sure this will be the sensor used. And most probably it will work at a higher capacity on the Pocket (I believe it is underutilized in the drone, but that is expected)

There won't be an OSMO Pocket 2.

Because the new ones will be OSMO Pocket Pro and OSMO Pocket Zoom.
