We use the Osmo pocket to record Martial arts training, usually a group of 5 to 10, with the Sensai in the middle, although most of the time DJI auto-tracking works great, it sometimes goes haywire and starts tracking a student wearing similar clothes, I wonder if it's possible to use a physical tracker (NFC Chip/ smart watch/ Smartphone/ remote control/ a red dot) to support the auto-tracking. maybe farfetched, just an idea.

Thank you.

There's a drone which works like that I believe, so not impossible technically.  But complications arise if the subject is close.  I guess the device would have to track the nearest face to the tracking device.

Actually it is already implemented in the market with a tracking tag but reading the reviews on amazon I don't think it's optimized yet

I was thinking with the tracking thing activated, the camera will lock the subject in the center(which we already have in current firmware) , then with a laser distance measure similar to smartphones these days, calculated the distance and implemented the built-in phase focusing, then last maybe add the face recognition.
