How many use a dedicated device (phone or tab) to control and view their drones,
or do you use your daily mobile?

I use my old SONY XPERIA XA1 ULTRA, big screen 6.5 inch!


My daily phone is a SONY Xperia 1 Plus with dedicated 21:9 ratio.
Not good since MM can not shot or view in that Aspect Ratio.
DJI, replace the 4:3 -> 21:9 option in the NEXT FIRMWARE.

I voted my daily phone. I tried an iPad Mini 2 for a bit but decided it wasn't worth the hassle and didn't help me see what was going on as much as I expected.

I feel sorry for you. Maybe MM does not deserve a product like the IPad Mini.
My big problem is the USB connector in the phone.
Big and bold phone (XA1 ULTRA) need to force
the USB to get any connection between phone
and controller!
- No probs with iPhone A1586!
But:
- 4.7 VS. 6.5 inches!
- 1334x750 VS. 1920x1080 resolution!

I recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5e and I'm happy to say DJI fly works flawlessly on it. I also used the  go 4 app for my Phantom 4 and it works just as good. Great tablet

Just use another usb cable with a smaller connector for the XA1 Ultra

I use a dedicated Ipad Mini 4 for the MM with a longer cable

I use the iPad mini 4. Dedicated for both my Mavic Zoom and Mavic Pro.

smart controller and if there were one for mm, I'd use it.  I always try to use a dedicated device since I would prefer to have my phone with me for personal use while I am flying.

I use an ancient Samsung Galaxy S6 which my daughter found in her kitchen drawer. Cracked screen, but hey, it works a treat !!

I'm using my daily phone at the moment. Being Xperia owner I vote for other aspect ratio compatibility too!

I use a dedicated Ipad Mini 4.  However, I have used my Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with no issues.

I've got a Crystalsky. Originally I used an iPad Mini 4 but visibility was terrible so I bought the Crystalsky.

Had to buy a new phone to use with my mini as my last one was not compatible. Got the samsung note 9. I wasn't about to buy an ipad just for a drone screen.

You may also want to think about using the bottom port to connect with your device. a lot more robust than the "connector" DJI chose is cheap, and easily broken.
Then you don't have to fiddle with playing with that little tiny cable setup in the holder arm...

Just realized, this is a M Mini.
They don't have the second/bottom USB port.
My oops....

Just dug up and old Samsung Galaxy S4  and was thinking about maybe using it as a dedicated. Didn't work. Android version is 5.0.1 , guess it's too old. I'll just keep using my daily phone for now.

This is my custom setup. Not cheap though, but unbeatable when screen brightness is at upmost importance ...

I have a dedicated ipad using a mavmount.

I use an iPad Air 2. Works perfectly.

Thanks.  It's 8" & 2.7K IPS, plus built-in LTE.

I preferred smaller phones but for fly apps in general it's no so good. Bigger screen to consider...
