I'm searching around and I can't really find a basic rules/laws list. I know the basics, and I know it differs from different jurisdictions but I've been stopped a few times by cops saying I'm in a "no fly zone" when I've checked the maps and the nearest "no fly zone" is a prison and it's 12 miles away. What gives? Something tells me that he was just lying, but I don't like confrontation so I just packed up and left.

I have visited that link, infact I do before every flight. I just feel they tell me that to make me take it down.

You could always take a print out of the area you are flying in that clearly shows you are flying within the laws of the FAA.  I would hand that to the person making contact with you and then see what they say.

I've shown them directly on the app and they still refuse to believe it.

Then they are just being jerks and have nothing better to do. Its a bummer that things like that happen to us.

It really is, I just packup and go somewhere else, no sense in causing a scene.
