Two days after it arrived I took Mavic mini with me on my travels to the north West of Ireland, I bought Mavic Mini thinking I would just use it for some practice some messing about and just a drone easy to put up in the air and view the world from the perspective we who fly drones really love.
To my surprise Mavic Mini has a really special camera that produces some really amazing footage, with a beautiful colour pallet profile and using 2.7k footage much more smooth than anyone would expect from something so small.
The whole package size is so small takes up no room, the battery life is something I found hard to get used to already owning a spark and Mavic Air and first couple of flights wondering when it was going to give up, it’s incredible for such a small drone to fly for so long.
I believe to get the best out of the Mavic mini is to fly in winds no higher than 15mph , fly at safe heights and try to keep VLOS for a stress free flight.
During filming I came across a man who approached me to enquire what I was doing, he informed me he was the present mayor of the small town I was filming in, I stopped to show him some footage and photos I had taken, he was so impressed I agreed to forward him some photos and a copy of the video, which I have now done, on receiving them he reciprocated by inviting myself and my wife to attend his annual ball where he hopes to show the video and photos I sent him.
So happy day all round for my first flight and video with Mavic Mini.
