So nearly crapped my pants today, third flight with my drone so i was in sport mode and was flying farther away then ever (3-400) meters, but intermittent videoloss caused me to freak out, so i turned.


On my way back i was like 50meters away when i went straight up just to get a overview shot, i was at about 200meters height (i know now thats not legal here), when signal suddenly was lost.
And i was moving all over the place, changing antenna angles, controller angle nothing seemed to help, then suddenly i got a short image and data telling me the drone was at 400meters (which was the limit i had set), then gone again for ten minutes or so, then a short image again with battery low warning, return now and all other bad news.

After another couple of minutes the i finally got eyesight of the drone as it was landing straight down, (no return to home), and i was able to maneovre it over to where i was, stressed and with like 4% battery remaining and some windgust i pushed it down and a gust threw it into the fence breaking some propellers, battery popped out, but drone survived.

Unfortunately i ran out of sd space so the last 5minutes of the flight was not recorded.
But looking at the logs i see 0 Satelites

Did someone jam me?
And was 0 gps signal the reason the drone flew to max height and did not return home?

Hi. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused. With regards to this concern. I would recommend to please try flying the drone in a different location with less interference. There might be power lines, metals or electronic devices that generates signal that can interfere with your connection during flight. In addition. But still 0 GPS and no return to home because of signal loss is a mystery.
do i need to configure anything to have return to home?
On the minimap on my phone it clearly said H (home) where i was located.

No, it does not explain it. But if you actually had 0 satellites, that would exlplain why it did not return home, the aircraft cannot return home without GPS satellite reception. But as JJB* says, post your log then we can get a better idea.

After looking at the recording i see that i did a 360 rotation just before everything went sour.

I'll get in touch with support once it opens again.

Drone is fine, but propeller mouting got damaged so its grounded till i get replacement.

When we say post your log, we mean to this web site: https://www.phantomhelp.com/LogViewer/Upload/
Follow the upload instructions on the site and come back here and post a link to the results. However in the bit you published I see a number of errors point to a large compass yaw error, they are most usually caused by starting the aircraft and taking off from a magnetically dirty location.

Im not able to upload logs to phantomhelp, it says it doesnt accept .DAT files, which is what the phantom 4 gives me.
I tried DatCon and then upload the exported .csv file, but i get an 500 error when i try to upload the file.

It actually do report lots of satelite connections, so im obviously confused, so any help understanding this is really appreciated.
