I'm getting a low-quality video and lags when flying a few meters away. I tried to replace antennas from a working build but it didn't help. I tried to write the latest firmware again, no luck.

It seems that after I change to high quality and then change back to low latency is fixing the issue and the bitrate is up from 8Mbps to ~25Mbps

But After I power off the same issue persists.

I checked and the unit gets proper 12v when it's operated.

No SD card in the unit.

Any advice?

Check your antenna connections.  Make sure they are pushed in tight and have some mechanical reinforcement to keep them connected.

How do explain the behavior of changing the quality?

When the signal is weak the picture quality degrades by design.  Bad connection =bad signal = bad picture.  

Either that, or you have a bad unit. But I went through the same things at first. Turns out one of my mmcx connectors doesnt click in very strongly.

Its all fine.
Do you think that reinforcement will help?
The unit worked few times with no issues in the past.

I've got a piece of hard foam wedged between the mmcx and the frame. Now, I know the mmcx cant pop loose during flight.  No problems since going to this arrangement. But this connector arrangement is definitely a weak point in the system.  Not sure about what your frame is like exactly, but you should try to figure out some way to secure those connections.

So I have checked again the antennas connections and all seems very tight.
I also tried MMCX to SMA with TBS antennas and the quality is low around 8Mbps.
Sometimes it goes to 25Mbps but then goes down again.
It also gets very hot after 1 min.
My other build is just fine.
Should I contact support for the warranty?

The air unit was shipped to DJI for repair.
