Hello all,
I was hoping to get some clarity/help on a recent incident that occured to me when I was flying my Phantom 3 standard. It was cloudy outside, and it looked like I might have been able to peak above them so I decided to take out my drone and try to reach above the clouds. Right around 1,200 feet from my takeoff altitude, the drone props began to make a very odd. As I looked at the camera/visuals, the drone seemed to be spinning, and desending from its altitude fast. After about half a minute of attempting to take control of the rogue drone, it crashed at a fairly high velocity into my driveway. I tried to find out what happened to it, but I couldn't find anything online that solved my problem. The takeoff altitude was about 8,000 feet in about 30 degree (F) weather. I'm guessing something spun it out of control, but I can't understand what. I have flown in clouds at this altitude and temperature before, and all of those flights were normal. Any answers to this incident would be greatly appreciated.

The flight data would give us a good idea of what happened. We have guys on here that are good at reading it, if you post it.

Flight data solves many mystery incidents.
But without seeing your data, no-one can help you.

That's a 2 minute flight that went up 33 ft and back down again.
It doesn't appear to be the flight you described.

You launched and climbed to 1035 ft at 1:19.7
You kept the left stick pushed forward but the Phantom climbed no further and started to slowly lose height.

As it started to lose height, the drone was stable and level until you started it rotating by applying rudder at 1:24.5.
At 1:29.2 it started to roll.
You kept pressure on the throttle until 1:31.3, by which time the drone had descended 135 ft.
Shortly after you gave it full throttle and held that for teh rest of teh flight.
The drone continued spinning to the ground but with only a little pitch or roll.
It hit the ground at about 2:03.2 and any data after that is caused by the impact affecting sensors and should be ignored.

The spinning indicates that one of the props or motors was not working properly.
That the drone did not tumble suggests that the motor or prop was still providing some lift.
