I am building my first quad with the air unit. There is one thing i still do not understand

I am using the mamba f405 stack, so do i need to connect the red wire to the vcc or the 9v bec on the fc? The manual says 9v 2A, hence 18w.

I readt somewhere saying that the power input for the unit is 7.4v to 17.6v, about 4-9 watt ( in newbeedrone website), so I am a little bit skeptical of putting the red wire to the 9v pad. Can someone clarify on this?
